Summary: The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC), on behalf of its membership welcomes the opportunity to provide input into the R&D Review Panel (the Panel) as it conducts its 2010 consultations. The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) represents leading companies engaged in the business of chemistry. Through Responsible Care®, member companies dedicate themselves, their technology and business practices to sustainability – the betterment of society, the environment, and the economy. Our members believe that the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentive program has been effective in encouraging investment in research and development (R&D) in Canada. They believe that the program can be improved to maximize its impact. This document provides input for the following issues/questions:
